For this reason, we align the actions and operations of our Association with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, as defined by the United Nations. They constitute a comprehensive agenda for 2030, with a set of objectives and targets for peace, justice, climate change, environmental degradation, and the eradication of poverty and inequalities.

Through its social services department, the Association monitors the families of persons with disabilities who attend our facilities, and in cases of financial hardship, it proceeds with targeted interventions.
CloseThrough cooperation with other organizations and within the framework of the implementation of the European TEBA program, the Association contributes to the goal of zero hunger, beyond the overall monitoring of families by the social services department.
CloseThis specific goal is also a core purpose of the Association. We implement programs of recreation, physical activity, and health monitoring for persons with disabilities.
CloseEducation for persons with disabilities never stops. We place emphasis on maintaining existing skills and developing new ones through programs based on scientific tools such as the ICF.
CloseWe actively support gender equality. 75% of our employees are women. It is a longstanding policy of the Association to support motherhood and to ensure equal treatment of both genders in all employment-related matters.
CloseIn the effort to achieve a zero carbon footprint, Merimna contributes through the production of clean energy. It has already installed photovoltaic panels that generate part of its required energy, and an expansion plan has been developed to fully cover its total energy needs.

CloseThrough experiential actions and awareness campaigns, Merimna seeks to awaken the local community with the aim of shaping an environment that is friendly to persons with disabilities, so that everyone can progress socially and economically.
ClosePromoting responsible consumption is a firm commitment of the Association. Recycling programs, the use of low-energy-consumption equipment, and natural gas where feasible to reduce carbon dioxide emissions are some of our actions. Our goal is for Merimna to become an organization with a zero carbon footprint.
CloseWithin the framework of providing comprehensive support to persons with disabilities, Merimna remains constantly vigilant in identifying cases of domestic violence. Furthermore, through its participation in various forums, it seeks to ensure responsible, inclusive, participatory, and representative decision-making.
CloseMerimna cooperates with local bodies—the Municipality, the Region, Associations—as well as with organizations from all over Greece to achieve its goals.
