Previous Programs
Merimna has made frequent use in the past of the European programs of the 3rd Community Support Framework (CSF) and the NSRF to finance its activities, whether these concerned education and lifelong learning actions or day-care programs. In most of these programs, the organization was the sole beneficiary, while in some others it participated through collaborations with additional bodies.
Below, the programs in which the association has participated are listed in chronological order—from the most recent to the oldest—along with a brief description of the results of each one.

- Promoting Social Inclusion of People with Disabilities
«Promotion of the social inclusion of persons with disabilities and awareness-raising on disability and volunteerism.»
It concerns the social inclusion of persons with disabilities and the sensitization of citizens to facilitate the social integration of persons with disabilities. The project is included in the Operational Program “Central Macedonia” 2014–2020 and is co-financed by the European Social Fund. The total funding amounts to: 112.540€
- Food Aid and Basic Material Assistance
«Food Aid and Basic Material Assistance of the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived (FEAD) – Social Partnership of the Regional Unit of Pieria».
The Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived (FEAD) supports the distribution of food and basic material goods, is combined with accompanying measures that contribute to the social inclusion of beneficiaries, and is implemented nationwide. The project is funded by the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived. The contracting authority of the project was the Municipality of Katerini. Merimna participated as a partner due to its certification as a Primary Social Care Provider, with the role of supporting persons with disabilities who received assistance through the program.
- Construction of 3 SYD - Improvement of KDIF
«Construction of 3 Supported Living Residences and expansion – upgrade of the Day Care and Daily Care Center, including equipment provision.»
It concerns the construction of a new building, the expansion and upgrade of the Day Care and Daily Care Center (KDIF), as well as the procurement of equipment. The program is included under Priority Axis “07 – Sustainable Development and Quality of Life in the Region of Central Macedonia” of the Operational Program “Macedonia–Thrace” 2014–2020. The total expenditure amounts to: 2.409.138€
- Interventions in favor of vulnerable groups
«Interventions in support of socially vulnerable groups by certified Specialized Centers for the Social and Vocational Integration of persons with disabilities (PWD) and former substance users or individuals undergoing rehabilitation, as well as by certified Vocational Training Centers (VTCs), in the three regions under the transitional exit framework.».
It includes specialized interventions focused on socially vulnerable groups and concerns the provision of pre-training and vocational training actions by the Association’s Specialized Center for Social and Vocational Integration. The project is included in the Operational Program “Human Resources Development 2007–2013.” The total funding amounts to: 504.000€.
- Support - Employability Enhancement
«Support actions for the elderly and other individuals in need of assistance, aimed at enhancing the employability of indirectly benefited persons.».
It concerns the funding for one year (2014) of the provision of day-care services to 60 beneficiaries with intellectual disabilities, motor disabilities, and multiple disabilities, on a daily basis. The project falls under Priority Axis 11, “Full integration of the entire human workforce into a society of equal opportunities” – Type of Region: “Three Regions in Transitional Exit,” and is co-financed by the European Social Fund. The total funding amounts to: 486.000€.

Program "Stirizw"
This action was implemented within the framework of the program “Organization and Strengthening of Social Support Actions for Persons with Disabilities and Vulnerable Social Groups and Social Solidarity Organizations of Macedonia and Thrace,” under the distinctive title “Stirizo (Support)”, with a total budget of: 2500.00 euro.
